Did the 604-8G in the Stonehenge III have "tangerine" phase plugs or aluminum plugs? I was just browsing Altec info at LH and it would appear that the Stonehenge/604 system was produced as early as 1974 and from what I can tell as late as only 1976, although the 604-8G remained in production through later years....I DO know that late 604-8G drivers did in fact have "tangerine" plugs and a different style end-cap. I can find no info on how early the plastic "tangerine" were first introduced into the 604 series. Lastly, if the 604-8G used both types of phase plugs.....which is generally considered best, or does it even matter?
Thanks
Russ

I think the old plugs were used up first, whenever they ran out the Tangerines were used. Same as the old frames werephased in over a couple years.
Just as it's possible with frames, some models can be found either way. I don't think an actual date was set and observed.
